Wikipedia - Oberliga Westfalen

The Oberliga Westfalen is the highest level football league in the region of Westphalia, which is part of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The league existed from 1978 to 2008, but was then replaced by the NRW-Liga, a new statewide league. With the reform of the league system in 2012, which reduced the Regionalliga West to clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia only and disbanded the NRW-Liga below it, the Oberliga Westfalen was reintroduced as the highest tier in the region and the fifth level overall in Germany. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system.

Germania - Oberliga Westfalen este o ligă de fotbal din Germania, aflată pe locul cinci în sistemul ligii germane de fotbal, sub Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, 3. Liga și Regionalliga. Este o ligă regională care acoperă statul Renania de Nord-Vestfalia. Liga a fost fondată în 1956 și este condusă de Federația Germană de Fotbal (DFB). Germania - Oberliga Westfalen este alcătuită din 18 echipe, care se înfruntă într-un format turneu dublu, cu fiecare echipă jucând împotriva celorlalte de două ori, o dată acasă și o dată în deplasare. Echipa cu cele mai multe puncte la sfârșitul sezonului este declarată campioană și promovează în Regionalliga West. Cele două echipe clasate pe locurile 15 și 16 retrogradează în Westfalenliga, iar echipa clasată pe locul 17 intră într-un play-off de retrogradare împotriva a trei echipe clasate pe locul doi din Westfalenliga.
