Wikipedia - Dresden Titans
Dresden Titans is a professional basketball club based in Dresden, Germany. Since the 2022/23 season, the club competes in the second tier ProA league.
History
The club was founded in 2005 as a cooperation of the three largest basketball clubs in Dresden, USV TU Dresden, BV Zschachwitz 95 and HSG Lokomotive HTW Dresden. The goal was to build a strong professional team.
In the 2009/2010 season, the Dresden Titans were promoted to the 1st Regionalliga Südost, finished the 2010/2011 season in 6th place and were promoted to the ProB of the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga the following season as Regionalliga champions. In March 2014, Dresden Titans Basketball GmbH was founded and took over the operation of the Dresden professional team.
Echipa de baschet Dresden Titans, care își desfășoară activitatea în orașul Dresden, Saxonia, a fost fondată în 2010. În prezent, echipa concurează în ProA, a doua ligă de baschet din Germania. Antrenorul echipei este Fabian Strauß, iar președintele acesteia este Andreas Schmalfuß.
Titanii și-au început parcursul în liga regională de nord-est, unde au promovat în ProB în 2014. În sezonul 2016-2017, echipa a câștigat campionatul ProB și a promovat în ProA. În sezonul 2020-2021, Titanii au terminat pe locul 14 în ProA, dar s-au salvat de la retrogradare prin intermediul unei runde de play-out.
Arena echipei este Margon Arena, care are o capacitate de 3.000 de locuri. Culorile echipei sunt alb-albastru. Jucători notabili ai Titanilor au fost Vitalis Chikoko, Jordan Tolbert și David Brembly.
