S.F.K. Pierikos (Greek: Σ.Φ.Κ. Πιερικός) is a Greek football club based in Katerini, Greece, part of the major multi-sport club of the same name. Their name was inspired from the State's name of Pieria. The club recently competed in the Super League 2 2021–22, at the Northern Group and got relegated to Gamma Ethniki.
History
History
In 1963, Pierikos played for the first time in the First National Division where he stayed for 9 whole years, while in the same year reached the final of the Greek Cup facing Olympiakos. Club's performances were often impressive, as it consistently finished in the top 10 of scoreboard of the league. In 1972 was demoted but returned soon. In 1975 the team got promoted to the First Division again and remained for 3 years. The club was then demoted again. Pierikos was promoted three more times to the First National, but never managed to establish itself again in the 1st Division. The biggest distinction of the club was to finish 3 times in the 5th place of the championship, but also the Cup final against Olympiakos in 1963 where it was defeated 3–0.
Clubul a fost fondat în 1961 prin fuziunea echipelor locale Orfeas Katerinis și AEK Katerinis și a fost numit după regiunea Pieria din care provine. Culorile tradiționale ale clubului sunt alb și negru, iar stadionul său de origine este Stadionul Municipal Katerini.
Pierikos a evoluat în cea mai bună ligă a fotbalului grecesc în mai multe rânduri, cel mai recent în sezonul 1982-83. De asemenea, a participat în Cupa UEFA în două rânduri, în sezoanele 1963-64 și 1965-66.
Între cei mai notabili jucători care au evoluat la Pierikos se numără Giorgos Koudas, Nikos Karagiannis și Kostas Arzoumanidis.
